ABOUT THE BAND



The Awkwardly Handsomes were begun by music pioneers Alejandro Pinero and Rachel O'Donnell. Both of them were discontent with every other band in the world and so decided to make their very own band.



Their band is a mixture of jazz, rock, punk with occasional touches of southern sri lankan Karchi music. This results in a touch of minty music with the explosion of flavor that every note brings with it.



Alejandro exposes his unforseen talent in the guitar, while Rachel complements the perfection in her very own Mandolin. Find out more about The Awkwardly Handsomes and please, don't be afraid to call us perfect.

What the Awkwardly Handsomes Do

Alejandro and Rachel are very busy musicians. Rachel's complicated schedule includes frequent visits to the library and stressing over exams. Her hectic lifestyle adds a certain crazyness to the music that she portrays. Rachel often comes to band practice not having showered because she claims the smell inspires her. She is a also a vegan.

Alejandro is a lot more laid back. His talent for sports earned him a spot in the Spanish 1982 soccer squad that would disappoint the home crowd with an early elimination. Alejandro has also won 3 US OPEN TENNIS CHAMP'SHIPS, and single handedly beat the home run in a season record set by Babe Ruth in the early 20th century. His favorite color is red, something that often appears in his music as well.

The Awkwardly Handsomes are an internationally renowned band. They have played in such venues like the Fleet Center in Boston, Madison Square Garden in New York, Pearson 104 in Medford, Wembley Stadium in London, ATO Basement in somerville, just to name a few.
